Doug is sick so notes might be a little haphazard
Tell us about your music and tell us what’s new!
campfire influence
little bonfire is a campfire!
folk singing sometimes boring (it is certainly a “traditional” style)
acoustic guitar and gameboy
Felix was 16, Kai was 26
Where did the project name originate?
60s porn/elevator music
Marvel or DC
Marvel for both of them
although there is some good DC stuff they say
Vertigo was a part of DC, which apparently is even better than Marvel
How do you make music with a gameboy?
software that uses soundboard
nanoloop: http://www.nanoloop.com/
“There are several pieces of software available, but most Game Boy musicians use Nanoloop, Little Sound DJ, Pixelh8 Pro Performer or Pixelh8 Music Tech. Other software includes Carillon Editor, Music Box, Pocket Music, the Game Boy Camera among others.”

8bit is more of a thing now...not so much in 2003.
Gameboy
gameboy is lightweight and easy to use!...though not really easy to play
not playing games
the bar stool was a hassle...it’s about convenience
May have been Cloudjumper that talked about checking email.
We’ve had on a number of electronic musicians/DJs/producers… here’s another: mos-emvy-150111-music-manumit-podcast
8-bit lagerfeuer writing started 12 years in past (released in 2007)
Since then, two kids, so time slots to do music very few
2016 maybe new album!
What about Wikipedia?
It’s inaccurate! Music is culture, and culture should be free. It’s a political statement. A lot of political statements like that out of Germany
at first, had -ND, but then realized that was limiting videos
remix album?
one person did the remix album...the guy that mixed the “real” album. He also goes with them on tour. He’s basically a third band member.
Jamendo new website?
maybe they are optimizing for IE?
no more mention of CC?
“it should be unusable”
We know you gig some, do you tour?
it helped hold the band together...one gig a month or so.
some cover songs when gigging
Britney Spears and Slayer...campfire version of “Hit Me Baby One More Time”
“I felt a little bit violated”
“it’s all thanks to Britney Spears”
we chat over Tidal
What are your other projects, if any?
“created two kids”
some solo stuff on soundcloud.
chef work is creative!
no time to jam!
ePhishent!
just put it on loop
ccmixter.org
it’s convenient
Who are some people you think we should try to get on the show (aka, who are the important people in Creative Commons music today)?
Josh Woodward...no longer does interviews
maybe we should ask Aphex Twin
new album?
new songs are more riff-based
more rock than pop
three songs with lyrics...a little more depressive
cyberpunk post-apocalypse?
Tom is creative consultant
Is there anything else you would like to say/tell us about?
nothing more in our hearts
Closing track: Sad Robot - CC BY-NC-SA
one of the first songs they wrote. Sad Robot is about a very human robot.
“I want to be a machine” is a similar concept, though reversed
